Technical secondary school internships are a vital part of education, helping students bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice. Through placements in environments such as workshops, construction sites, and companies, students learn to use tools, work with professionals, and understand workplace discipline while developing technical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Despite these benefits, many face serious challenges, including long distances to internship sites, high transportation costs, limited supervision, financial difficulties, and exposure to safety risks. These obstacles can affect their performance and overall learning experience. However, internships remain essential as they build confidence, improve employability, and prepare students for future careers or entrepreneurship. In a context like Cameroon, where unemployment is a major concern, strengthening technical training through better support—such as transport assistance, proper safety measures, and stronger school-industry partnerships—can help produce a skilled workforce and contribute to economic growth.
